How our climate report earned a link from Oxford University Press

TL;DR (Too Long; Didn't Read)

We helped KISTERS develop a white paper on the REAL cost of climate change.

The Brief

KISTERS, a global environmental data and software provider specialising in water, energy, and climate monitoring solutions, approached us to help strengthen their domain authority and challenge larger competitors in their sector.

The goal was to secure high-quality backlinks that would support their SEO efforts and position KISTERS as a credible, go-to source for climate data.

We proposed creating a data-led asset that journalists and publications would actively want to cite.

We partnered with Pals to create the downloadable whitepaper so they could collect details from interested clients.

The Strategy

We developed The Real Cost of Climate Change, a report using respected external sources (the IMF, European Commission and EM-DAT) to highlight the economic impact of natural disasters globally and regionally.

The asset combined hard-hitting stats with clear visualisations and media-friendly hooks.

Our outreach focused on national, tech, and climate media, offering regionalised data angles and timing pitches around relevant news moments like COP28 and major climate events.

The Results

This campaign was a resounding success, gaining over 20 pieces of coverage.

“Thanks to Sabot, we turned complex climate data into a clear, credible report that editors wanted to cover and wider audiences wanted to read. It earned quality coverage and authoritative backlinks, and was later cited by Oxford University Press.”
